The report first calculates the number of transactions and value generated by investors through a specific brokerage in a given period. The report then calculates the same investors’ total activity in the market. These calculations combined create the market share report.

Trades between brokers, brokers' own-account trading and moving between accounts owned by the same person is not included. The report solely focuses on investor trades resulting in a change of ownership.

The report is updated monthly and is provided as a subscription service to allow brokers to track the development in market share over time. The report can be used to evaluate how well a broker exploits the customers' potential regardless of the market's fluctuations.

The Customer Share Report contains the following columns:

• Number of trades through brokerage firm
• Volume of trades through brokerage firm
• Number of unique investors at the brokerage firm
• Number of total trades in the market, traded by these unique investors
• Volume of trades by these investors
• Customer fraction transactions
• Customer fraction volume

The Customer Share Report is confidential and will only be distributed to the specific brokerage firm in question. The report does not divulge any personal information about the investors. All investor data are provided on an aggregated level.
